Первое, возможно, порождено библейским выражением из 2-го посл. Коринфянам 12,2-4: "Знаю человека во Христе, который ... восхИщен был до третьего неба.; 3 И знаю о таком человеке  что он был восхищен в рай и слышал неизреченные слова", - но второе?... Подскажите, пожалуйста, есть ли название у процесса, когда переносное значение слова становится прямым при утрате первоначального прямого значения. Поясню на примере. Первоначально у слова "выжига" было значение "тот, кто выжигает из мундиров померших чиновников золотую канитель*". Понятно, что это занятие не являлось уважаемым, поэтому у слова появилось значение "плут, пройдоха; прижимистый человек". Со временем переносное значение вытеснило прямое (про выжигание канители теперь уж никто и не вспомнит), и в свою очередь, само стало прямым. Так вот меня интересует, есть ли специальный термин, обозначающий переход переносного значения в прямое. Потому как переход прямого в переносное называется метафорой, может быть, и для обратного процесса есть название. Надеюсь, вопрос понятен. Буду признательна за адекватный ответ. --------------------------- *тончайшая золотая, серебряная или медная нить, которой вышивали галуны, аксельбанты и прочие украшения офицерских мундиров, а также ризы священников и просто богатые костюмы. Ее изготовляли кустарным способом, раскаляя металл и осторожно вытягивая клещами тонкую проволоку. Процесс этот был чрезвычайно длительным, медленным и кропотливым, так что со временем выражение "тянуть канитель" стало относиться ко всякому затяжному и однообразному делу или разговору. Комментарий участника stern_seam наиболее полно, на мой взгляд, объясняет этимологию этого выражения: В деревнях долгое время сохранялись выражения "сердитый табак", сердитое вино" в значении "крепкий". "А пиво-то у тебя, Михал Дмитрич, нонче больно сердитое. Эк, забрало!" В кабаках же раньше хлебное вино часто разбавляли водой. Сколько себя помню, с самого детства и по недавнее время, общеупотребимой формой было "и так далее". Смысловая разница здесь в том, по моему восприятию, что вариант сравнительного наречия "дальше" более применим к прикладным, физическим измерениям. "Дальше" - значит, расположен на большем удалении от наблюдателя. "Далее" - означает подразумеваемое продолжение перечисления, неполноту списка. А? (40 Comments |Comment on this)

Например, слово пиршество. А каков на самом деле путь его словообразования? Корень пир- - это явно, суффикс... вроде -ество. А откуда это "ш"? На этот вопрос современное словообразование ответить не в состоянии. Скорее всего под кажущейся прозрачностью скрыта утерянная в веках промежуточная словообразовательная цепочка, как это произошло со словом новшество, в котором прячется книжная сравнительная степень новший от новый. Have a great day, night or afternoon wherever you may be. --- Hi everyone, sorry for the late notice but I'm going to have to do some testing on 1 of our 4 internet circuits TONIGHT; Friday night or Saturday morning depending on which time zone you're in. Most of us shouldn't notice any impact, though there may be some slowness or lag when I switch traffic on to our other ISP circuits and then another hit when I stop the tests. If a page won't load or times out, try hitting refresh 1 or 2 times and it should load then. If it doesn't work at all... trust me, I'll be typing really really really fast to try to undo whatever I just did. Hopefully you'll have some Halloween candy (if you're in the USA and celebrate that kind of thing) nearby to take away the bitterness of a small site outage. :( Here's the handy-dandy Website That I Always Use to get a feel for when the maintenance will start in your area. As much as I despise bigotry and intolerance, I know that you can't change people-they have to change themselves ... Confront! confront! confront! Politely, but without equivocation. SPEAK UP. Always, always, always speak up. Letting something slide lets ignorance win. No matter if it offends me directly, or someone else, I will confront the speaker and let them know that's not ok. I don't get offended personally. As an immigrant, woman, gay and person of color if I took every single potentially offensive remark seriously I wouldn't get anything done. I punch them in the balls. With my mind. I do speak up, but often very timidly because I feel that I'm white and therefore I don't really have any authority to lecture someone on what's racist and what isn't... Generally speaking, I do not let this shit fly, because it reduces me as a person, to this non-person and it replicates the destructive discourse that makes sure that sexual minorities, racial minorities, women, people with disabilities, trans people and every intersection thereof into something other than human... ru_etymology [ chyyr ]	7:49p	dairymaid Для английского dairymaid - "доярка" - Online Etymology Dictionary дает следующую этимологию: от сред. англ. daie maid, каковое daie в свою очередь происходит от др.-англ. dæge - "месить тесто". (т.е. предполагается переход: "служанка при кухне" -> "служанка вообще" -> "доярка") Вопрос: если отказаться от предложенной этимологии, можно ли вывести daie из германского *dejan? (откуда, по Фасмеру, гот. "daddjan" - "сосать", др.-швед. "dia" - "сосать", др.-в.-нем. taen "кормить грудью". От того же индо-европейского корня русское "доить", санскр. dhayati - "сосет") PS Да, мне очень хочется, чтобы "dairymaid" и "доярка" оказались однокоренными словами :^) (21 Comments |Comment on this)
